My Story

Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to check out my blog!

My name is Lisanne. I just turned 25 a couple of weeks ago, and turning this milestone of an age, I am making some major life changes. For the first time, I realized that I won’t be young forever. Not that I’m old or anything…don’t get me wrong. I’m definitely still young, and I have A LOT of life ahead of me. But for the first time, I’m seeing 30. I’m seeing 35. 40. I’m realizing that I’m definitely not a college kid anymore, even though I graduated in May of 2012. I’m not in my early 20s anymore. But those are all the things I’m not…right? But what about all of the things that I am? That I will become?

I’ve changed a lot since I graduated college. And it’s amazing and crazy and wild and wonderful to think of all the ways that I have changed, grown, realized things about myself in such a short amount of time, and it’s been such an incredible journey. Every day, I’m discovering something new about myself, about my friends, my family, experiences…the overwhelming sense that I am so lucky to be alive in this moment, and to have all of these opportunities presented to me so often. I honestly couldn’t ask for more.

Alright…sappy, right? Cliche? Yep. I know. Enough of that.

 So…about me.

I have an absolutely wonderful family. They’re so cool, I can’t even stand it. Just check it out for yourself:

 Cool, aren’t they?

They’re pretty awesome, if you ask me. I’m really close to my family, and I’m so thankful that I have them supporting me in my ventures. You’ll read about them A LOT through out my posts. That’s for sure. My sisters are my best friends. My brother is awesome and crazy and so much fun. And I adore my parents.

 And then, there’s this guy:

 He’s cute, isn’t he? 🙂

It’s funny. He’s actually the one that has been trying to convince me to start up a blog. He’s all about it. Me sharing my ideas with the world. If he thinks my ideas are good enough to share with the world, I must have some good ideas…I think. Or he just really likes me. Either or.

He’s a keeper.

I’m in graduate school currently, working on my Master’s degree for Secondary English Education. Yep. I wanna be a high school English teacher. Or middle school. I haven’t totally decided yet. I’m almost finished with my program. I intend on graduating this coming December. I absolutely love it. I’m in love with the idea of sharing my love of literature, of writing, of language use with the next generation. I cannot WAIT until I have my own classroom. I could probably blubber on for hours about my love for teaching. It’s the most rewarding thing in the world, watching a student understand a concept for the first time, and enjoying the learning.

I’m so in love with this profession, I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible it is.

I can’t put a label on myself. I’m a blogger. golfer. crafter. diyer. i love to cook. decorate. travel. explore. There are so many things I’m discovering about myself, and every day I wake up with purpose, and it is exactly what I have been looking for. I’m SO excited for what’s happening right now, and so excited for what’s to come.

I haven’t even written one of these before, so I’m not entirely sure what to write. I suppose this will do for now. I hope you enjoy my blog.

Feel free to comment, shoot me an email to collaborate, or give me some ideas on what you’d like me to post about! Can’t wait to meet you 🙂
